Furtive 00-12 Fret Grand Concert plans/template

Dear esteemed rabble,

Thanks to a brilliant community wood supplier, who packages his wood better than anyone I’ve ever imagined, I have a sweet collection of narrow walnut just begging to be plucked.

Enter the search for a body plan/template of a 00-12 Fret Grand Concert. No dice.

LMI has a template for a 00-14 fret but to my rather inexperienced eye the bodies do look a wee bit different (martin’s site as reference).

In an ideal situation I would find an acrylic half template (i.e. LMI) that I could use to make a mould, but if I could find even a rough tracing I would be so happy I could just dance.

Can anyone help?

Cheers,
Jeremy

Jeremy, I own a Martin 12-fret 00. The old, elongated (original) shape. If you would like, I could trace it for you and get the pertinent measurements. Not acrylic, but you could transfer it to acrylic.

If this would work, lemme know.

Steve

Thanks for the quick reply everyone.

MichaelP - Sorry for the contradiction in body styles, I got the name right off of Martin’s site
http://www.martinguitar.com/guitars/choosing/guitars.php?p=z &g=a&m=00-45S%201902

Steve – If you could do that I would really appreciate it (read: forever indebted to you).

I also noticed that guitarjigs.com has a 00 12 fret mold available but I also really need to eat this month and my rent is already late.

Cheers all,
Jeremy

Wow I have never seen a OO body referred to as a Grand concert and I have been to Martins sight hundreds of times. guess I just missed it. I think of a GC as slightly larger than a OM. Shows you what I said a couple weeks ago about definitions being different form one maker to the next. I did not take offence sorry if I came over that way.

michael

i think you may have a grand auditorium in mind. taylor's gc is in the same ballpark size as a oo, but martins ga, or m model, like taylors ga is a bit bigger than the om
